Two days later, Dr Flores replied and she explained to me that having a PP in a STEAM field could fulfill one of the requirements in order to get a STEM diploma in DP, although it’s not necessary. She also clearly explained that my project was indeed STEM and to make sure to include the science aspects in my research, including the nutrition aspect, the different food groups, daily requirements, substitutes, and also include this information thought the project. Again, by sending the email I applied a variety of ATL skills such as creative and critical thinking, communication, and organization skills. I used creative and critical skills as I came up with an original idea for my project in which I was very interested in and with which I strongly connected, I also used critical thinking in order to understand how and if my project is STEAM-related. I used communication skills as I had to precisely explain my project’s idea to Dr Flores, explaining in detail all the components and especially how my projet incorporated the science aspects and therefore could be STEAM-related. I also used organization skills as I emailed Dr Flores during the summer so I could start my project before the start of the year so I could be a little bit less stressed.
